Cutting-edge CNC

For the last three decades we have prided ourselves on providing the highest quality products and services, all while keeping abreast of the latest trends and technological innovations. We are excited to let our readers, customers and partners know that our company has recently made significant improvements to its stone cutting workshop by acquiring one of the most state-of-the-art CMS Brembana CNC machines, the Maxima MB. As of today, Blue Pearl Stone is the only company in the United States to own and operate a Maxima MB CNC machining center.

For those who are not yet familiar with the acronym, "CNC" stands for Computer Numerical Control, and refers to a system in which a digital design is converted into numbers, i.e. coordinates, that are used to control the movements of the machine’s cutters.

What makes our new machining center truly unique, however, is its cutting-edge VNT, the so-called Vertical Nesting Technology. As CMS’s official website describes, “VNT reduces counter top production to simply the loading of the slab onto CMS' VNT equipped CNC work-center followed by unloading the finished parts after the machining is complete.”

In addition, the five axes in Maxima MB allow the machine to process both slabs and blocks (even ones of considerable thickness), and to perform such tasks as roughing, milling, drilling, countersinking, pocketing, lettering, sculpting, finishing and polishing contouring operations, cutting drainboards and bas-reliefs, and engraving. Apart from its seemingly countless features, Maxima MB also saves water and energy by performing all the above-described tasks on a single machine.

As our existing customers know, we take great pride in the precise and artful hand finishing of our products. So rest assured, while the new machine allows us to speed up the process of cutting, milling, drilling and performing all other tasks, the final and often most crucial steps still heavily rely on the talents and finesse of our craftsmen. We are excited to stay ahead of the curve, and we look forward to continue to stay true to our promise of making every countertop a masterpiece.
